Local Infrastructure Development Plan for Slough

The Voluntary Sector in Slough will provide a robust service which is responsive to a community of many facets. Robustness of purpose is however vulnerable to erosion, so our vision sees organisations and groups focussed on excellence in providing services to Slough residents with the capacity to make informed decisions, to plan for the future with clear and executable missions and the means to achieve defined goals.

Our vision sees a local voluntary sector with emphasis on frontline delivery, establishing the independence to achieve goals and to be effective in partnerships. Each organisation is governed strategically and is well attuned to opportunities available to increase and diversify income.

This vision is achievable by providing accessible, confidence building infrastructure services and structures which enable the sector to flourish from a reliable base offering of pragmatic expertise. It will pay particular attention to the large number of smaller groups in Slough, often at early stages in their development. This means permanence of resource in every sense - recognition, approachability, confidence, interaction, and long term funding.
